Leader
My names is Luis Sanchez and I work for Central Arizona College as the director of admissions and recruitment. I have been in higher education for nearly 15 years and love being involved in education everyday. I believe the value of education is one of the most important things in life. Education has provided with many of the opportunities that I have today from a career that I love, to being a community leader, and an example for Hispanic youth in Arizona and beyond. As a leader and innovator I hope to continue to make my mark on the world of higher education for many years to come.
Educator
I have also served as an adjunct faculty member for Central Arizona College for 12 years and have taught in the the social and behavioral sciences division as an instructor for orientation to student development classes, and currently serve as an instructor of technology classes through CAC's community education learning program. I love the opportunity the classroom provides me. I have taught in face-to-face, online, and hybrid modalities. and look forward to teaching for many years to come.
Researcher
I recently completed my journey as a student at Arizona State University studying in the EdD in Leadership and Innovation program in 2017. My goal by way of doctoral research was to deepen my knowledge and skill sets through learning and to become an innovative leader in the realm of education. I long for the opportunity to have a direct impact on my local community by leading the way with solutions and ideas to educational challenges faced. The Doctor of Educational Leadership and Innovation program was an ideal program that helped me improve my skills and knowledge as an innovative thinker and research. My 3 year mixed-methods research project was focused on college transition for high school students in rural undeserved communities of Arizona. The theoretical frameworks that guided my research were Goal Orientation Theory, Co-Regulation Theory, and Self-Regulation Theory. Today I continue to conduct research based on problems of practice in my local context of higher education.
